Apparently there’s a new Trojan about that can intercept Blizzard Authenticator codes and send the wrong code back to Blizzard. It can enable a hacker to change your password, steal all your hard earned goodies… and reach out of the computer and slap you (ok I made that last part up, but if you don’t have an anti virus or take precautions perhaps you should get slapped! ;-) )

If you’re infected with this Trojan, when you log into your WOW account via the authenticator the Trojan will intercept the authenticator code, send it to the hacker and send a wrong code to blizzard. So, you’ll get an error and the hacker will get the code and be able to access your account!  If you are infected, you have the file name“emcor.dll” on your computer. It will probably be at “C:\Users\(Your user name)\AppData\Temp

So, though the authenticator may give you an added sense of security, it is not foolproof, so remember to be careful what you download and use a virus scanner!

This week the comic corner is back…in full force!!  I have managed to find several great comics…some new some old for your enjoyment!

First up is one from newcomer Sparkly Doom.  I love this one because it’s just putting out there what I know we all thought when we started doing our Sons of Hodir dailies!  Haha!

Next I found a few from Daily Quests that tickled my funny bone.  The first, called Goblin Ingenuity, shows the possible result of improperly installed rocket packs!  The next one called All’s Fair in Love and Warcraft is just plain funny…boys can be so gullible! The last one from DQ teaches us a valuable lesson…to Always Listen to Your Elders.  Love it!

The next couple for this week are from another newcomer, K’s Grab Bag. The first one from this artist shows a triumphant pair looting their kill, it’s amazing what forest animals carry on them sometimes! Next from this artist we have Insults to Injury which teaches a valuable lesson…do NOT pick on your healer before a major fight!!  HAHA

Next up is one from Complex Actions that is a great showing of just what desperate players might resort to when farming mats. Neckrokleptomania is simply hilarious…oh and I love the word!!

movie reelNow, I know that the holidays are rapidly coming to a close here, but I did find some holiday-related machinima this week that I thought truly worthy of sharing with everyone, so here goes!

  • First we have one from NinthBatter, which is part of his ever popular “Nobody Like You” series.  This one is all about Hanukkah…and I have to say, I had NO idea Arthas was Jewish!!  :)
  • Next up is a pretty cool one from Oxhorn that is part of his Christmas for Geeks album that we featured here last week.  It’s called It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like This Raid Isn’t Going to Happen (longest title ever) and I had to include it this week as I know it’s one we can all relate to on some level!
  • Lastly we have one for  you from Firebolt Productions called Northrend Wonderland.  This one is hilarious as it shows a loyal servant of the Lich King trying to cheer him up…the way he does it is pretty great!  And anytime I get to hear the Lich King sing is WIN! in my book!

Ok, well that’s what we have for you this week in our belated holiday version of Movie of the Week.  See you next year!

movie reelOk, so this week it was hard to choose from all the great movies out there, but I did and I have chosen a couple of them that will help get everyone in the holiday spirit if you’re not there already.

  • The first movie this week is a very cheerful holiday music video written and produced by one of my favorite Machinima Artists, Cranius.  It’s called Greatfather Winter and if this one doesn’t get you excited for the upcoming holidays you must have ice running through your veins!  Nice job, Cranius!
  • The next one I wanted to share with you this week is from Oxhorn, and although it’s more of an advertisement, I still liked it and I have to admit…I bought the album and I LOVE it!  Check out Oxhorn’s Christmas for Geeks.

So that’s it for this week’s movies…enjoy them and have a great holiday!

Santa VinceThis week I was able to find a ton of comics, but I will refrain from showering you with all of them at once!  I will save a few for those weeks when I am not so fortunate.  So here are this week’s selections:

  • The first is from NPC Comics and it shows what a major difference one letter can make!  Here’s Perky.
  • Next we have a newcomer to the Comic Corner from Da!ly Quests.  In this one, called Grab The Light By The Horns, one of the characters has a vision of the upcoming race/class combo of a Tauren Paladin.  This is priceless!
  • This next one is from NoObz! and it is yet another one in their Commandments series.  I really do like this one!
  • Ok, now this one could be considered a little “risque” but I think it’s hilarious so I HAD to include it!  It come to us from Tim Buckley at Ctrl+Alt+Del and it had me rolling!
  • Lastly we have an appearance from Vincent of Experience Points in a couple of holiday related comic entries.  I tried to choose just one and couldn’t.  So first there is the one where Vincent can’t resist dropping a hint to Santa. And the next one here is the best…but I had to hide it from my son as I didn’t want to give him any ideas!

So, there you have it!  This week’s funny bone ticklers!  Have a great week and a Happy Holiday!

movie reelThis week’s movie is one from Silverlined Productions and I think it’s quite suiting considering the proximity to the release of 3.3.  Revenge Act 2 is another teaser vidoe for the Revenge movie which will hopefully be coming soon!  In this video, our hero is finally getting the chance at a show down with the Lich King, which is truly appropriate since patch 3.3 is releasing to day to live realms.  This is an excellent video just like the first one and I love the way our main character, Nixxiom, is idealized into the perfect hero!  I cannot wait to see the final film once it is all done…but isn’t that the point of the trailer?  To keep us wanting more?  Well it has worked!

This week’s comics are some pretty good ones, so if you’re in the mood for a good laugh…check ‘em out below:

  • The first one this week is from NPC and it’s called Sensibilities and it touches on real life vs. game world…cute!
  • The second one is also from NPC and I LOVE this one!  It kind of pokes fun at the recent news of WoW’s ultimate Overachiever!
  • Next we have one from NoObz! which is a continuation of their commandments series and it should serve as a warning to all of us!
  • Now we have one from Experience Points where Vince decides to stop complaining and work!  Or maybe not…
  • Lastly we have one for you from Fail Druid…I wish I would have found this one sooner since it has a Thanksgiving theme, but that’s ok it’s still cute!

Well that’s it for the Comic Corner this week, we’ll catch you right here next week!

movie reelThis week’s WoW-themed movie comes to us from GiGi and Nation (formerly known as Abandonation) and it is all about achievements!  I like this one because, well it describes…me!  I am definitely the one in my little social group of players that is always after that next achievement to get the latest title, item or whatever Blizzard decides to throw at me as a reward for all of my endless hours of grinding!

So, this one hit close to home…oh and I like the creative title too!  Watch Achievement WhOre now I’m sure it will remind you of someone…maybe even yourself!

These notes and updates are filled mostly with bug fixes (158 if I counted right!) but there are some cool things happening here, too.  Oculus is seeing some nerfs and they’ve tweaked a couple of classes.  Read on for the full list of changes!

Oculus

  • Many bosses and creatures have had their total health reduced.
  • Several bosses and creatures have had cooldowns on specific abilities increased, effect durations reduced, and damage on some of these abilities reduced.
  • Ring-Lord Conjurers and Sorceresses now hang out in packs of 4 instead of packs of 5.
  • Vehicle scaling on the drakes based on the rider’s item level has been increased to make them more powerful.

Paladin

  • Divine Intervention: This ability now also removes Exhaustion and Sated from the target. In addition, the cooldown on this ability has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.
  • Lay on Hands: This ability will place Forbearance on the paladin if used on his or herself. It will not place Forbearance on others.
