Blizzard has released the new bear form models and graphics that will be added in the next major patch. New graphics and models are being added for both Tauren and Night Elf animal forms. The fur color for the animals can be changed in the barber shop just like the character hair styles and colors. The official Blizzard development page is available here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/druid-forms.html. In addition to the minor shape and color changes, some new animations will also be added. A noteworth animation addition will be to allow the bear to close its mouth – no more slack-jawed bear. Click on the graphics below to view the full size images.
If nothing else – it will at least be a change of colorings when staring at the bear butt at the front of the raid

Ok, so we were a tad over-leveled, but heading into AQ40 with 4 people was interesting. The point in doing so was to collect some additional mounts while working on the World of Warcraft 50 mount achievement. While it really isn’t possible to get past the first boss with only 4 people due to the fact that during the encounter 3 people will get mind-controlled, the trash leading up to the boss respawns fairly quickly and can easily be killed with 2 or more level 80 players. We farmed up several of the AQ40 specific mounts in very little time.
Here’s a screen shot of us on some of our shiny new AQ40 bug mounts. It’s too bad you can’t use them outside of the instance, they actually make pretty cool mounts.

Our party make up consisted of 2 resto druids, a warrior tank and a hunter. There wasn’t a whole lot of healing required, so the druids spent most of the time casting damage spells. We made a few attempts at the first boss but failed each time when the boss would spawn 2 clones of him self and mind-control 3 of our 4 party members. We had more than enough damage and healing to take the boss down – but once 3 of us were forced to turn on the 4th, it didn’t go so well.
I later went back with my hunter and a friend’s resto druid. Killing 40 man monsters with 2 people is a little slow, but can easily be accomplished at our level. If you were the appropriate class and geared properly, the AQ40 trash could pretty easily be solo’d.
After we had our fun collecting the AQ40 mounts, we headed over to AQ20 and easily cleared the instance to get the achievement with just the 4 of us. Took us less than 1/2 an hour to clear an instance that I remember spending multiple raid nights working on with a group of 20. Big fun

I tell you one thing about Wrath that I am really liking right now…Profession changes! I am actually glad for once that my Druid and Warlock are both enchanters, now I get more than just ring enchants! Scrolls of enchantment are the saviour of the enchanting profession.
What are Scrolls of enchantment?
Scrolls of Enchantment are the future of enchanting…duh! Now instead of having to find an enchanter while they are online, the enchanter can simply gather the materials and then craft the enchant. The enchant will be in the form of a scroll that anyone will be able to use to enchant the specific item with that specific enchant.
What does this change?
Everything pretty much. This means Enchanters will now be able take materials form them into scrolls of enchantment and then place them on the Auction House, mail them, etc. In fact you will even be able to pass rare enchants through neutral auction houses to the opposing faction.
This is truly an amazing change that will benefit everyone single person in the game, and not just benefit the enchanter.
Then why didn’t Blizzard do this sooner?!?
I have no idea, it really doesn’t seem overly difficult to implement. I really wish it had come sooner, but that is looking at the glass half empty. I am a glass half full kind of guy, so I would rather be extremely happy that they do finally plan to implement it after talking about it sinc the launch of the Burning Crusade.
The day I sell my first enchant via a scroll will be a very happy day for me.
What other new things are out there for Enchanters?
Well you know those low level wands you were able to craft before. It seems that they will finally create an epic maximum level wand for enchanters to craft. I mean it only seems logical to me that enchanters should be able to make some really nice magical wands.
These are more great changes by Blizzard, and the more I hear about the expansion the more excited I get! I can hardly wait for the release… hopefully I may get a Beta invite yet!
Well the NDA has been lifted, and tons of information is pouring out to the public. Some of the most useful, but often boring to read, are the patch notes. You will find tons of good info here though so read on!

- Spellpower:
- All items and effects which grant bonuses to spell damage and spell healing are being consolidated into a single stat, Spellpower. This stat will appear with the same values found on items which grant “increased spell damage and healing” such as on typical Mage and Warlock itemization.
- For classes which do not heal, they should see no change in the character sheet other than new tooltip wording.
- Healing characters will see their bonus healing numbers on the character sheet decrease, however, all healing spells have been modified to receive more benefit from spellpower than they received from bonus healing, with a net effect of no change to the amount healed by their spells. Some talents have had to be rebalanced to accommodate this change, but the amount healed will remain roughly the same. In addition, some talents will provide only healing spell power.
