TwentyFifthNovember has Downed Malygos!
That’s right, folks you heard me. TwentyFifth November, the UberGuild formed as a result of the merger of two of the worlds BEST raiding guilds (SK Gaming & Nihilum), has downed Malygos! Malygos is currently the end and supposedly most difficult boss of the current WotLK content. The next bosses, Icecrown and Arthas, will be made accessible in a future patch.
Ok, so let’s get this straight, this means that within 3 days of WotLK launch a guild has leveled their characters to MAX (although a few members of the raid were not yet 80) and taken down all bosses and therefore defeated all available raid content!? Now, I know Blizzard has been on a mission as of late to tone down the game and make end game content more accessible even to casual players, but this seems a bit absurd!
I don’t know, I guess we wait ad see how long it takes for another guild to accomplish this task after all these are the Ultra Elite players!
I know that before the expansion was released Blizzard was getting nothing but love it seemed for toning down BC instances and raids and removing keying requirements. This seemed to yank everyone right off the beta servers and into BC PvE content some had never had the honor of experiencing before. I, like many, thought this was a great idea for many players and hey it got people back into the game! However I know when I reach 80 I WANT my end game content to be difficult, challenging, and (call me selfish) somewhat exclusive!
What we want to know now is what YOU think of all of this! Do you think Blizzard has “Dumbed down” WoW too much or are you happy to see that more people are able to enjoy game content they had never before experienced?
It depends honestly, I been on a lot of guilds with mostly nice people that ended up splitting up or good members leaving because o lack of progress given that some fights were complicated for most of them, warcraft was a relatively easy game before this huge nerf, but I don’t consider the fact that they dumbed wow, cos this guys are mostly pro’s this is not he first game that they play and are very aware of the game’s mechanics (I partied with some of them, and I relized how little I knew about bosses encounters I done 1000 times) if u do the right thing and know how to use most of ur char habilities, wow wasn’t always a problem
honestly, the dumbing down of BC instances is due to drastic changes in WotLK. In that respect it’s ok cause more people get to see things. What I didn’t like too much was removal of attunements and key requirements for BC raids. This meant that raids were skipping hard stuff cause they could go farm things and never went back to it. it’s the reason I left my horde raid cause we couldn’t drop keal, vashj, or archimonde yet the raid leader kept saying we were doing a great job taking out easy things.
I do like that we got to see the instances and fights but I didn’t like skipping something just because it was hard. I know it’s a game and it should be fun but I like challenges in my games so that when I finally accomplish something, it feels really good. I remember back in old WoW when my raid finally cleared Vaelstraza in Black Wing Lair. that felt great and awesome. then we clear Nefarian just before BC release and felt like we accomplished something few people can do. I don’t mind making things easy but sometimes it feels like blizz makes it too easy and then ruins the epic feel those fights had.
I believe, as far as raiding, that Blizzard has done a good job by “Dumbing Down” instances. They have always said that they want more people to experience more progression in the game, and they have done exactly that. What a lot of people do not realize is that blizz has made the instances more challenging as far as skill and strategy (which really cuts down a stupidity level among players). these two guilds have made numerous world firsts and is no big surprise that they completed these raids already. They where the first to down sunwell like the first week it was out. I was in a decent semi-hardcore raiding guild and never saw past the first boss. Just because one guild can do it doesn’t mean every one will.
