Hey everyone!

I had the priviledge of being in beta for months before the release of WotLK, so I was able to have my go at Northrend before most people.  This included tinkering around with the new player class, the Death Knight.  I started a couple of them and put several levels on them, and while I liked the class I knew it was just a novelty for me!  I am a hunter through and through.  So, when the expansion was officially released, there was no question for me which of my characters would be first to level 80.

However, I was in Shatt just the other day and I noticed I was completely surrounded by Death Knights!  They were everywhere!  So, I get that this is a novelty…new class and all, but it got me thinking.  I wonder how many of these players will abandon their old classes and stick with the DK?

So, I thought I’d put it out there to you guys.  Have you tried out the new class? If so, will you play it for a bit and then return to your previous favorite or are you fully converted and destined to be a hardcore DK forever? Or, is it just too soon to tell?

Let me know!

I mained a 70 warlock in BC, and while I loved it, I was interested in trying something else.. either a melee dps or even a tank. Now, while I wasn’t in any of the high end raiding guilds (I did a little bit of T5 stuff, but nothing past that), I’m still interested in taking on main tanking, or tanking specific bosses, whatever the case may be. I’m liking the DK so far (level 66 now), and will probably end up making it my main. It’s a change of pace, and I like it.

WotLK for me is getting back to my priest as my main instead of my mage. in BC, I took up the blood elf Mage to let everyone get through the starting areas on their toons before leveling the priest. I was thinking about doingthe same things here with the DK. I kind of like it so far and think it has potential. I doubt I’ll make my DK a main though. just something to do when I’m not leveling other characters or raiding.

I just got my DK to 69. The game seems geared to the DK. I’m sticking it out to 80 with him before I go back to my three squishies (Warlock & Priest at 70 and Mage at 71).

I had several 70’s sitting on reserve and had a hard choice once Wotlk came out. I had decided to go with my mage for my first 80. Mainly for a speed factor. Wasn’t able to quite get first Mage, but did achieve first gnome on my server. I then started leveling my DK and the difference is astounding… I believe I would have been able to get to 80 in about the same amount of time if I had played the DK first i’m guessing. You can easily manage a mass amount of group pulls / elites, probably better then an imp. blizzard Ice mage. Given the gear bump at 56-60 is nice, and helps you right into the 70 bracket. I’ve never played a pally but can imagine this is a lot of what is was like when they first fixed Ret before the Nerf. I do not believe it is worth completely dropping your main, but it sure is fun. From a pvp standpoint nothing is better than pulling a mounted toon to you to completely decimate.

I’ve had an 80 DK for a while now and while I enjoyed levelling him up by questing (the dk class is really over-powered, but that’s what makes it fun) , melee in a group just isnt my thing….I’d much rather do ranged dps. I _do_ think there should be one more “hero class” released tho’….just to spread things out a bit….maybe a hero-class caster?
